Air Cleaning Systems

 

Dorset Farm Systems develops and produces air washing systems.

Dorset Farm Systems builds Biological air cleaners for the pig farming industry since 1994.

Meanwhile, we are exeperts in the production of biological air cleaners, combined air washing systems and chemical air washers.

Biological Air Washer

In the Dorset Biological Air Washer the bacteria do all the work for you. They decompose aromatic substances and ammonia in a single filter layer. On top of that, the dust is washed out of the air. No chemicals are used. The bacteria convert ammonia into nitrate, which after the next step evaporates into the air as dinitrogen – closing the cycle.

When designing the Dorset Biological air cleaner, a low energy use was one of the main priorities. The filter has a very low resistance which provides a reduction in energy use for the ventilation.

The filter has a self-cleaning capacity; therefore it does not have to be cleaned. The check-up is limited to sprinklers and / or drip catchers.

Our Biological Washer provides an ammonia reduction of 70%.

 

 

Dorset Combi Air Washer

The Dorset Combi Air Washer works in the same way as the biological air washer. The ammonia and odour will be removed in one go. The main difference is that the Combi Washer is provided with an additional water curtain to remove dust from the air before it reaches the washing system

Results of the DLG-Signum test (German Agricultural Society-Signum:

  • Dust reduction: 93%
  • Ammonia reduction: 90%
  • Odour reduction: 80%

The Combi Air Washer has also been succesfully tested in Danmark by the institute Agrotech. Read more about it in the test report.

 

 

Dorset Denitrification system

In the Dorset Denitrification system the wash water can be cleaned and conducted back to the washer (denitrification). Drain water is therefore kept to a minimum. The system can be compared to a water treatment plant.

 

 

Chemical Air Washers

Dorset has a wide range of Chemical Air Washers for the industry. Especially for the combination of dust, ammonia and higher temperatures. For barns the chemical air washer is less suitable because it has a higher air resistance.

 

 

 

 

Biological Air Washer for laying hens

The biological Air Washer for laying hens is equipped with an extra dust collector. This washer can clean 70% of the annual amount of barn odour with a capacity of 2m³/h per laying hen.
