Trovan® Hands-free/Proximity readers provide an unequalled degree of security and convenience. LID 665/650/608 readers can operate in either a stand-alone or a networked configuration.

The system is absolutely secure: identification is based on an electro-magnetically coupled signal, rather like a small radio which does not require batteries. Each Trovan transponder has an absolutely unique number, which is controlled and registered in a secure database by the manufacturer. Unlike conventional technologies, such as color photo badges, bar coding or magnetic stripes, it is not possible to duplicate this number using conventional duplication techniques, such as color photocopiers, or magnetic stripe encoders. The unique identification number is encoded in a microchip, and therefore cannot be altered after manufacture. This technological approach is an offshoot of cutting-edge United States Department of Defense development, and is the most secure identification technology currently available anywhere.
