We, Bernadette and Stephan Raming, operate a biogas plant in central Emsland since 2011. Due to the constant further development of the plant, such as an increase in electrical output and the introduction of flexibility, in 2017 we faced the problem of additional storage capacity due to the adaptation to the new Fertilizer Regulation.\r\n<\/p>\n\n

As there was still approx. 1.8 million kilowatt hours of residual heat available after using the heat on the farm, we decided to dry the accumulated fermentation residues ourselves with the waste heat of our own CHPs.<\/p>\n\n

After various discussions and on-site inspections of digestate dryers, we were convinced us the dryer system with back mixing from the company Dorset.<\/p>\n\n

As a result of the backmixing process, a granulated material is generated capable of being scattered on land, the CHP bonus generated and, last but not least, due to the positive experiences of other operators, the decision to install a Dorset dryer was not really difficult.<\/p>\n\n

After a quick set-up and a short commissioning time thanks to the Dorset service team, we are pleased that the plant has been running virtually trouble-free and independent around the clock since July 2019!<\/p>\n\n

So we are satisfied that the Dorset dryer not only blends harmoniously into the overall picture of our biogas plant but also that with the commissioning of the Dorset dryer our biogas concept is completed.<\/p>\n\n
